- Bicycle trailer?
I am looking into getting a bicycle. But I have had a long time problem with bikes in that they don't haul much gear, I like a lot of cargo room. I recently saw one of those baby stroller/trailer/carriage device a man was pulling behind a bicycle and I think that is what I need. I looked online... these things are like 300-600 dollars! Isn't there one that is more like 60 or less? All they are is some fabric and some plastic/steel/aluminum right? Anything more than like 80 bucks seem totally unreasonable to me. Where can I g t one for a more reasonable price? Do I need I certain type of bicycle to use one of these? Also, do all bikes accept those baskets on the handle bars? I want one of those too.... I like cargo space... lots of cargo space. Thanks.

A You can watch for sales at Target and find a bicycle baby trailer for under $60. They're not the greatest but they do work! Better though actually is a BOB Yak or Ibex --see this link: http://www.bobgear.com/trailers/index.php They're more stable and better suited for cargo, lower center of gravity makes them easier to pull, and the single wheel tracks better with your bike. But they're also around $300, so I personally prefer the TW trailer because it's very similar in design, and not only is it cheaper, it's foldable! In fact, it folds right up to slip inside the included cargo bag! You see, while many Amtrak trains will permit you to bring your bike right on the train with you, they will not accomodate the BOB trailers because they don't fold and are too long. With the TW trailer, you can carry it on with you inside the cargo bag--to ride with you and your bike out to your final destination, and then bike tour your way back home, eliminating the need to "back track" or have someone come pick you up. Here's a link to the TW trailer, which is apparently now $195, but if you keep checking on e-bay, you should be able to pick it up for $160 or less. They're really a lot better than using one intended for carrying babies. As far as baskets go, though, well it depends on what is used to attach it to your bicycle.

- Can an unlicensed moped pull an unlicensed bicycle trailer on the road?
So let's say you want to do a little bit of traveling on a moped, enough that it requires a trailer. Well, obviously you want a light trailer and a light load on a light moped. Since a moped doesn't require a license, does that mean you can pull a bicycle trailer on main roads with it? Do you need to outfit it with lights or something first? Should I expect to be pulled over and be prepared to argue it?

A Here, a moped does require a license. Vehicles powered by anything other than humans or animals requires a license. Even bicycles require lights to be used on the roads.
